My Therapy Dogs-the Yogurt Cup

This post is dedicated to My Therapy Dogs who help me live and work towards the person I want to be someday.  No certifications, no therapeutic licenses, just six dogs that are part of my life helping me overcome my personal obstacles, no matter their size.

The following story is one those small ones, that has made a world of difference in my life.  Not to mention fun and inviting.  Today my heroes are Chance and Blaze, the Front Dogs.

I know that if you've been reading with us for a while, you may have heard this before.  I still find such a miracle in it, that I am repeating it.

I've never been much of a morning person and the thought of breakfast first thing can make me want to gag.  I put off eating until the last possible minute.  When I finally drag myself around to it, I have two very willing helpers who love to assist me with this chore of food.  It doesn't take long as their loving eyes follow my every move, where I find myself smiling and looking forward to our little ritual.

A couple of spoonfuls in their own cup with their own spoon, while I eat straight out of the container.    I take a couple of bites, then I give each of them a spoonful.  Back and forth we take turns having our little treat together.  Because that's what it is to Chance and Blaze, a treat, and that's what they make it for me.

No tricks or performances to get their spoonful of yogurt other than to sit.  This is our time together.   My special beautiful time of actually enjoying the worst part of my day and with Chance and Blaze they make it so easy and wonderful.  Three kids just sharing their meal together and the moment.

Note*  I was having stomach problems and trouble eating before being in the hospital a couple of years ago, when I started incorporating the dogs into my daily eating routine.  It's worked ever since.  You can read more about it HERE.

It truly is those little things that make all the difference in the world.

Interesting isn't it how feeling happy helps the digestion. Glad you can share with your pups (yogurt is a fave treat here too)

Share the start of the morning everyday with the WDA. Breakfast bites for all...two each. YoYo and Oso even have a sloppy slurp of my heavily creamed coffee. It is a GREAT way to start the day! Yeay to chance and Blaze.

See. Dogs are smarter than we are. Because of them, we are living better lives... whether we believe it or not.
