Yes, it is so sad, especially when you think of how little it takes to show a dog he or she is loved.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning,very thankful to be loved so well.
Unfortunately, I can't count the number of times I have said "Why do they have a dog?" when it is clear the dog is a nuisance to them and they are always yelling at them.
ReplyDeleteI do wonder about those dogs, they're sort of like the little kid that gets ignored because his caretakers are watching tv or something. I think it's sad because Huskies get this problem a lot, it seems, since they're so gorgeous and people seem to want to have them for the purpose of showing them off like a trophy.
ReplyDeleteI do wonder, absolutely. I think all dogs deserve families who treat them as a part of the FAMILY. I see people parading their unaltered dogs around like status symbols and it makes me sick, or the people who think it's fine to simply leave your dog in the backyard all day without social interaction, or the people who say in defense of their behavior, "They are just dogs."
ReplyDeleteI think that a dog raised without love is just as sad (and just as WRONG!) as a child raised without love.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me that dogs thrive when they are able to receive as well as to GIVE love ~ and have it be accepted.
Like some of the others responding, that situation just breaks my heart whenever I see it happening.
ReplyDeleteYour post just made me get down on the floor with my dogs for cuddles and attention giving. I NEVER want for them to feel unloved or unwanted.
We just saw an example not an hour ago. A big husky kind of dog tied up outside on a short rope in the dirt. There was a small rickety dog house and crusty water for him. He's not abused, but he's not loved the way he should be, either.

Oh yes, absolutely. Sometimes I just wonder why some people even want a dog. They love us so unconditionally - they deserve the very same and more. Love the pic!
