How cold has our summer been? I'll show you!

This is last year's garden...

This is my garden now, at approximately the same time as last year's garden

Here is my corn...

The saying is knee high by the fourth of July...
How about if it is knee high by July 22? lol

We should be eating these beans by now...

and have cucumbers coming out of our dog's ears...

The only veggie really "taking off" is the pumpkin plant.
It may not look like it but it is going crazy!!  lol

Here are our "Mammoth" sunflowers

At about a whopping 2 1/2 feet tall, they are ready to flower.
This has been the worse summer we've ever had.  Even if we had a cool summer, we could always count of July for some heat to balance things out.  Not this year!
It has been really sad to watch.  All those fresh veggies with no sun or heat to grow.

I hope somebody out there is appreciating a hot summer,
cause it ain't happening here!

Anyone else having successful gardens?

We've had a relatively cool summer as well, but I love it. I planted my Canna bulbs the first of May, and just today got a bloom on one.

We are having a hot one this year after two bad Summers of clouds and rain so we are very happy. Hope your weather changes for the better soon. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly

That is really sad! We are surrounded by farms here and many of the crops have been slow. I feel terrible for those who rely on agriculture to make a living. I think all the warm temps are in CA! Here's hoping it warms up a bit!
