Sometimes it is Just a Pissing Contest.

You really think you can top me??

And really that is all it is.  Brut and I are prone to them, but it has been a long time since we challenged each other to a duel.

And all it took was a bath to bring it on.

Now usually I have to put Brut in the tub, leash him up, hold him with one hand and wash and rinse with the other while he cries, whines, howls, and pushes to get out.  And although he is a pain in the ass, he is manageable.

This time we started things a little different...

We played "find it" on the floor and then in the tub, when Brut for the first time ever got all the way in the tub on his own accord!!  It was so cool!  Then I played with the water, turning it on and off to get him used to it.  He was doing pretty good.

I'm getting out this tub or else...

And that's when it all ended.  If this was a training exercise, I would have quit and been satisfied for the day.  Instead I had a dirty and very stinky Brut and the only day I would be able to give this bath.  I couldn't let the opportunity pass.

Brut on the other hand made his own choice to get in the tub and wanted to make the same one to get out.

And the pissing match began!

Brut was losing at outsmarting me and began using his strength against me.  He pushed hard against my arm and succeeded at getting out the tub a couple of times.  Thank goodness for the leash as I was able to get him back in the tub and wrestle him some more.

Finally after the match was over, we both won.  I had a clean Brut and Brut was finally able to get out of the tub.

I don't know how he was feeling afterwards, but I was exhausted!

"Next time Brut, we are going to the lake!!"

Giving my sister Bailie is like wrestling with an alligator in a tub. Neither of us like a bath, but when I am in, I stay put and just deal with it, Bailie refuses to give in.

I can't imagine keeping a dog that big in the tub when he doesn't want to be there!

OMD nothing more difficult than bathing a dog who doesn't wanna be in the tub! Especially when its a big, strong dog like Brut. I had a couple a those over the weekend...can't wait til its outside-with-the-hose weather!

I've heard of putting peanut butter or something on the walls so your dog can lick it during a bath and be distracted.

Oh boy, sorry your Brut doesn't like bath time :-( Thankfully, our pups both tolerate it (there's always treats involved).
