Brut Life Lessons

Mom!  Come here!  You've got to see this!!

If Brut has his eye on something that grabs his attention in the backyard, he will get so excited that he won't come when called.  So, I will go out and check out what has his interest, which always satisfies him enough to come in.  Amazing what the power of a little acknowledgement will do.

Acknowledgement for humans is always nice, too.

What an intent pose!

Just like a little kid who wants to share his discovery with you so badly.

Great pic.

I should try that with Sage. She can get pretty "one-track" minded!

Dog discoveries can help humans see the world through new eyes...and sometimes new noses. :-)

Hi Y'all,

Yep the nose knows. Always pay attention to us!

Y'all come by now,

It's communication isn't it? Brut doesn't come in to tell you he has something interesting going on.

You go out to him and he knows you've gotten his message. Perfect!

Don't all children want to show their parents what they find? I know I do. :)

Woofs & hugs, <3

In a way, aren't we all like that? I don't know how many times I have called Steve into the office to see some interesting or cute "find" on the computer. You photo perfectly captures the COME SEE THIS excitement!

Love the photo!!!! We find the same thing when our dogs are barking at something. If we acknowledge whatever is exciting them, then they quiet down.

The other night, I had the dogs outside and one of my dogs was sitting beside me just staring up into the night sky. The only thing I could figure out she was staring out was the stars. She seemed to enjoy whatever she was watching, though, because she sat there like that for about 5 minutes, just staring into space.

All they need is to be able to feel that they matter. It's like with kids, ignore them and they'll ignore you. Take an interest in their life, make them feel important to you, and they'll want you to be a part of it. At least that's my take on things:)
